Dive Teams from Jefferson, Parsippany, Boonton & Pequannock responded to help with the search.

DENVILLE -- Authorities recovered the body of a 26-year-old Princeton woman shortly before midnight after she went for a swim in Cedar Lake and apparently drowned.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office said this morning that the victim, Fatima Younes, went for a swim with two other women after rowing to a floating dock in the middle of the 99-acre lake.

The women -- Younes, along with a a 22-year-old Ogdensburg resident and a 28-year-old Rockaway resident -- left work at 6 p.m., traveled to Rockaway and then to Denville, where one of three, who once lived at Cedar Lake, arranged to borrow the rowboat from a current resident to go for a swim.

Authorities said they began receiving frantic 911 calls from neighbors after Younes went under the water and didn't surface.

The investigation is currently being conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Denville Township Police Department, The Morris County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Section, along with the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The following agencies responded and participated in the search recovery operation: Denville Fire Department, Parsippany/Troy Hills Rescue and Recovery Dive Team, Boonton Fire Department Dive Team, Jefferson Township Fire Department Dive Team, Pequannock Township Fire Department Dive Team, Rockaway Boro Fire Department and The Picatinny Arsenal Dive Team, NJ State Police Aviation (Helicopter).

Younes' body was found at 11:57 p.m.

Meanwhile, Cedar Lake's beach has been closed for the day.

Cedar Lake is a residential community of about 350 families, many of whose homes are located on the lake.
