| The Cub Scouts of Pack 111 |
The Cub Scouts of Pack 111 of Lake Hopatcong had their annual Pinewood Derby on January 24th, 2009. Each boy created their own car to enter into the race which were judged based on the creativity. Each boy had a chance to win a trophy for Most Unusual, Original, Best Craftsmanship, Funniest, Best Looking and fastest. The fastest car in the Pack goes on to race Milton for the town trophy and bragging rights for the year. On top of this, each of the boys voted for 'Scouts Choice.' | Fire Company 2 Holds Fire Safety Program |
On Sunday, February 15, Cultural Care Au Pair held its annual
Fire Safety Program at Jefferson Fire Company #2's firehouse. Vinny
Corsaro, the town's Fire Marshal, taught the large class basic fire
safety including; what is fire, dangers of fire, dialing 911 - what
information to provide, where to call from, having a meeting place,
getting out and staying out, and what safety equipment/clothes are
used by fire fighters. Helping the class included JTFD2 members
James Bessemer, Rich Coutts, Steve De Feo, and Travis Luecht. One of the Au Pair's, Pi'a Hofmann, was an assistant during the program. Pi'a has been a fire fighter for 7 years in Germany and is currently a firefighter for Green Township. Au Pair would like to thank the chief and members of the company for hosting the program and the group is planning to make it an annual visit. More Photos |
