Freedom Tour Bike Race

Each year in July, rain or shine, the Freedom Tour Bike Races are held in Stirling New Jersey. This year the race was held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 and marked the Nineteenth Anniversary of this event. A highlight of the Freedom Tour was the 11th running of the New Jersey Firefighters Bike Race which raises money for the Saint Barnabas Burn Center in Livington, N.J. Firefighters compete in a friendly race wearing full turnout gear (except for fire boots which makes pedaling a hazard) * * * Congratulations to Jefferson Twp Fire Co # 2 members : Firefighter Bill Weir, Firefighter Lee Williams, Firefighter Jackie Shropshire and Firefighter Pete Shropshire for participating in this year's event.
