July '09 Monthly Drill - Water Rescue

JTFD2 recently completed a water rescue training course. The course included classroom lectures and outside pool training.
During the pool training session, firefighters had to complete several water tests, recover sunken objects, and learned several ways of rescuing a drowning victim.
Firefighters also learned how to do a survival float in full turn-out gear. They had to don their gear, and jump into the deep end of the pool. With simple techniques, firefighters were able to learn how they can float in their heavy and easily sinkable gear.
