Mutual Aid to Mt. Arlington

Just past Midnight on April 20th, 2009, Mt Arlington Station 26 and EMS 83 were dispatched to
20 Hopatcong Ave, for a reported chimney fire. Chief -1 arrived on scene
within minutes and reported Heavy fire showing from a two story home. The
chief immediately requested Picatinny Arsenal Fire Department for a FAST
Team and response from Jefferson Co #2 and Roxbury Co #2 to the scene.

The residents of the home were able to escape without being injured.

Both Mt. Arlington's and Jefferson's Ladders were used for venting the home, and for fire suppression. Jefferson firefighters made entry into the "D" side of the home and made an aggressive interior attack knocking much of the fire down.
An additional Fast team was requested from Roxbury Co# 1. The fire was brought under control in about two hours The Red
Cross also responded to the scene for the displaced residents.

The fire is under investigation at this time.
